2011 with mini max turns off egr

Greetings to all, I recently did the CA deletes and was able to simply turn the EGR off with the mini max. Does anyone know if I'm in for any problems by simply turning the EGR off instead of disconnecting it or removing it all together? Thanks

You can just do what I call a delete in place with the Smarty and H&S on the 4th gens. No need to unplug anything

FWIW Im working on redoing the 4th gen tutorial. Just been busy with a bunch of stuff lately.

Blake, in looking through the H&S Docs for my 2011 CTD I don't see anyplace where in the set up I can turn off the EGR. I tried disconnecting the EGR sensors but now I'm throwing trouble codes P0107 and P007D. Any ideas?

Jim

Yes I am. Does that tune turn off the EGR automatically?

if you have the DPF removed tune loaded onto the truck then yes it kills EGR in that tune.

Thanks. It seems that by disconnecting the EGR connections I caused the codes. Now that I have reconnected the sensors on the EGR I'm not throwing codes any longer.

BTW, I did a before and after run down the freeway. I was getting about 15 MPG prior to the DPF delete and tuner. Now, I'm pushing 17 MPG. Considering it's a 4X4, Dually, and has only 1500 miles on the engine I am pretty happy with the mileage. I'm looking forward to the other benefits like cleaner oil and hopefully no service issues with emission controls since most have been removed or disabled.

The truck has really woken up, but the tranny is not entirely happy. The auto tranny with stock tuning was spot on, but now it gets confused a bit. I'm thinking I will need to spend some more coin and get the tranny unlock code to improve on the shifting.
