Turbo Actuator Module

A few weeks ago my check engine light came on. Three codes (P003A, P00AF, U010C) were left that indicated the turbo actuator module was at fault. By the way, if you see code P226C, the turbo is bad. Thank goodness I did not have that one. This issue is common enough to cause actuators to be in short supply (hence this post). My dealer wanted around $3,000 to replace the actuator with an OEM (that also needs to be calibrated with their equipment at extra cost). I viewed a great YouTube video by Motor City Mechanic detailing how to do this yourself using an actuator CNC machined by City Diesel that is better than the OEM and needs NO calibration. The actuator is $1000 and not that difficult to install. The video tells you what you need to know. It is certainly not rocket science. By the way, my truck runs great!

Earlier this year, my RAM had the actuator codes too. While waiting a couple weeks before deciding what to do, DIY or Dealer, I received a notice from RAM extending my warrantee on that specific part to 150k miles. I smiled all the way to the dealer. Took half a day to replace. It covered my '15, not sure if '14s are covered. If you spend $ to fix it, either DIY, Dealer, or other, keep your receipts. They would have reimbursed me if I had.
Back to morning brew . . .

City diesel definitely makes an outstanding easy to instal actuator that needs no callibration. I actually have one that I installed hoping it was all I needed and found out different. My turbo had to be replaced. Its brand new. Machining and design is impressive. Need to sell. Paid $900 Ill take $600 for it.There is always a 3week wait when ordering. These parts are desired and for good reason. It Was cake to install. The customer service and products are second to none. Mine is for a 2012-2015 year model. Anyone interested ? holler back. Happy Trails~

I always have the exhaust break on when driving. Inactivity causes problems with the actuator.
