Tranny range selector +/-

I was just curious if anyone here uses there range selector
when just driving around town or in traffic. I use it often
so I don't lug the engine and having not to shift in and out
of gears so much.

I do that too. I use 4th for most city type of driving and under 55 I keep it in 5th.These trucks go into 6th gear quickly even a slower speed driving. I figure by not lugging I can reduce the soot...But I'm probably wasting my time. I also keep my e/brake on all of the time except for snow/ice.

Yep that's exactly what I do except for worrying about
soot cause all that junk fell off. I also don't leave the
exhaust brake on anymore.

us it as well
Down shifting on hills (with exhaust brake on), and lock out 6th when towing as most of my area has just enough hills to be a pain on the down shift from 6th all the time.

I use it all the time myself driving around town. Usually keep my in 3 or 4th to keep from shiftting all the way to 6th for 45mph. The 6 speed shifts so quick and I do not like that at all.

I shift mine pretty near constantly...

Used to use it quite a bit on my 08, especially when towing.
