Swapping gears

Hey guys,

I have a 2010 2500 diesel with 3.73 gears.

I've come to find out it has an open rear diff in it. Always 1 tire spinning. It's annoying as hell in the winter time.

I've got a rear diff from a 2003 ram 2500 with 3.73 gears that i've never seen not have 2 tires spinning.

I was considering swapping the whole assembly out but the the seals are leaking and its pretty rusty (the 03).

So i was wondering what it would take to swap internals?

Can i just unbolt the ring from my 2010 and put it onto the 2003 one?

Thanks for any help

I'm pretty sure it's not even the same make of axle.

The 2010 is but I thought the 2003 still used the Dana.
