THE P2271 thread...
Seems like this one needs to exist as it has been taken up in other threads of various subjects.
I'm here now. Have been for well over a month.
First visit was a re-flash according to the TSB. They also ordered the new harness.
Second visit installed the harness (soldering it in as I recall).
Third visit got the dealer on the horn with Chrysler. Said there were a few other things Chryco wanted them to check.
<insert 4200 mile round trip to the Keys here, hauling a slide in camper and a 21' boat here>
Fourth visit was today. Issue being escalated up Chryco technical chain. Dealer's diesel guy now on vacation for the rest of the week. Dealer waiting to hear back from Chryco.
Searching the code seems to indicate it's been an issue for a while now. Seems Chrysler would have solved the problem by now...
I bought the 5/100 bumper to bumper extended when I bought the truck knowing it would be covered while paying it off.
Trip to Keys was completely uneventful. While I certainly didn't max out its towing ability, 4000 lbs worth of camper in the bed and 4000 lbs worth of boat and trailer out back should qualify as "work". 11-12 mpg at 60. Not so much as a hiccup or burp. CEL shined the whole time.

So, in case anyone was wondering, after a summer spent with the CEL shining brightly, my local dealer called to say that Chrysler engineering indicated an O2 sensor change and relearn. They did that last Monday. By last Wednesday, the light was back on again. Whoo hoo. It's back at the dealer again today.
Well, that was timely... Dealer just called, said there is a NEW TSB case regarding the problem relating to a connector and the new replacement connector is has brass pins, something about the resistance?? Gee that sounds familiar.....
Post-Op. The connectors were replaced with gold (not brass) pins and got only a companion code instead of the 2271. At that point the Tech decided to replace both O2 sensors with new ones. That was a week ago. No light since.
So to recap:
1. New harness soldered in.
2. Replaced tin connector pins with gold.
3. Replaced both O2 sensors.
