Just bought a flooded Cummins TD, Transmission question!
Hey guys, I am a newbe to this forum.
I just purchased my first cummins truck fresh out of the texas floods. The only issue I am facing is transmission damage, likely due to water exposure in the transmission. After doing extensive research on my transmission I came up with tons of inconsistent information. I have a 2017 2500 TD model, AT, quad cab, 4x4, and for the life of me I can't figure out which year trucks the transmission is interchangeable with. I am pretty certain I have the 68RFE trany. While some places claim it is interchangeable between 2011-17' models other show 2016-17.
Also since I have to replace the entire tray I was also wondering what good performance option I could go with since I am planning to beef up my truck with some HP in the near future.

When you raise the hood and the trans dipstick in on the passenger side of the engine, it's a 68RFE. There's alot of electrical/electronics that controls that transmission. I hate to sound negative but my bet would be you still have alot more issues ahead of you.
