I'm looking at a 2011 crewcab 6.7 4x4 Bighorn. I'm not new to a 5.9 cummins, but I am to a newer 6.7. What should I look for on this truck so I can avoid a headache later? I like the truck, but don't know 6.7 problems yet. Any advice will be appreciated. Thanks

I have a 2012 w/ 35k miles and it's been trouble free. The only thing I'm aware of with the pre-'13 6.7's is that you need to clean the EGR system at 67,500 miles. Not necessarily a problem, just a routine maintenance item.

Thanks, I have been reading up on the egr valve and emissions. I'll definitely clean it out once I get it. Does the 100,000 mile warranty cover all the emission parts?

I did it. I bought a 2011 Ram 2500 SLT Big Horn with remote start, power seats, mirrors, backglass, new tires, rhino lined bed, new gooseneck hitch, electronic 4wd, etc etc.. I love it!!

I made the switch too, I had a 04.5 2500 4x4 SLT w 260k and just got a 2011 Longhorn Laramie 2500 4x4 w 139k.. I love the truck...heated steering wheel, heated and cooled seats, power rear window and sunroof.. the bad.. ride quality.. seems worse, im super disappointed. both trucks have exactly the same set up new bilstien 5100s w leveling kit and toyo open country MT 35s. It might be the hyd body mounts or something else but it just seems super harsh, also playing with tire pressure is a pain w the new TPMS.. the system is a joke, the worst part is MPGs I cant get above 12 mpg. That's a big jump from 20 in my 5.9. My 2011 is all stock yet but I wanted a truck with over 100k so I can throw every mod at it and not worry about warranty, also no inspections here in Oklahoma, I haven't gone shopping yet but soon. I sure miss my 2004

I love my 2011 6.7. The ride to me is very smooth and better than my 2001 quad cab. I'm very impressed overall except the 13 mpg around town. I've driven it a little bit on the interstate and averaged 17 mpg. Like you, I miss the 5.9 mpg. I only have 36,000 miles on it and I want to leave it stock, except for a tuner to gain a few mpg back. Overall very impressed and worth every penny.

Congratulations. I'm just about to turn 70 on my 2010 without any issues that required a trip to the dealer. I had the front end wander which I chose to fix with after market parts. Wander is a hit or miss with our Dodges. I just did the 67K service with the kit from Geno's garage. I was very surprised at how little soot build up there was. But because of the emissions equipment my driving of combined highway and local requires oil changes at 4k according to the EVIC (computer). So now I just change the oil/filter every 4k, the fuel filter every 8k and the air filter every 12K. So I believe that my good habits may help with the health of my truck.
The warranty does cover emissions parts and some states (see Genos garage)do require Dodge to cover the 67K emissions cleaning. NJ is not one of those states. The kit was right around a $100.00 bucks so not so bad if your handy with some hand tools.

2011 48,000 on it fully deleted at 11,000 due to check engine light and soot issues. 3" leveling kit, 35"duellers, carli Trac bar, carli ball joints, spyntec manual hubs and the only thing it's been back to the *********** for is the recalled tie rod. I will say this it definitely rode better stock before I put the lift and tires on but *** it's a truck.
