exhaust question

I have a 2012 6.7 2500 big horn truck, my truck is bone stock. I want to take out my particulate filter. and put a straight pipe in its place will it help my engine breath better. Is there any thing else that I would have to do?

Yes. There is alot. You can't just take it out then weld a pipe in it's place like you could with cat converters in the 70's and early 80's. You will need a programmer that can essentially reprogram your truck. With just the filter gone, you'll get tons of codes and the computer will go into a limp mode and not run as best as it can. Look into the thread in the High Perf section about deleting a 6.7. Way too much info to type here. and it will be better explained there.

Also consider that if you have any warranty left it will be void and if you have to pass any special inspections in your area, that could be an issue too.
