Engine Tune

Can anyone please tell me if I only do a muffler delete, will I have to retune my diesel? Its a 2011 dodge mega cab!!! This truck is stock. I am just wanting to do this for sound purposes only... Just too quite

There are some pictures of the inside of the muffler in this thread close to the beginning. https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...t-t278158.html You can see straight through the muffler so I don't see it offering any restriction, I think you could straight pipe it with no problems.

No you will not need a tune to only delete your muffler. Although, do not waste your time, the muffler is only there for looks and provides no sound dampening, removing it will net no more noise.

If that is the case then straight piping it would lose a few pounds yet have no other affect. Where else can we trim weight without adverse issues?

Aluminum rims including the spare. Headache rack, box rails, side steps, part fill the fuel tank around town.

Blake did a great job on that thread and it's a good read for anyone even if they plan on keeping their truck stock as you will need to know what is going on eventually.
