Engine light has be coming on try to pull up the P codes, give me dOnE. I thought is was the gas cap, seem like it would come on when I fill up, so I got a new cap. So it has stayed on for a couple days, so I was going to take in today. Of course light went out. Anyone else had this. Truck is a 3500 2008 Meg 4x4 6.7

 

diesels do not have an evap system to control fuel vapors like a gasser motor does. will not set a light with a gas cap off.

 

my 2010 was doing this on and of for the past week but I never could pull a code. hasn't done it in a couple of days now.

 

On my 2010 it turned out to be the 5th and 6th overdrive clutches going bad.

Check engine light can throw lots of codes.
