Difference in transmissions

What is the difference between the Aisin and the G56 transmissions. I am looking at a 2016 Dual rear wheel and the sales person is saying he prefers the G56

For example.....

Crew Cab 4x4 DRW LWB Aisin 3.42 has a GCWR of 29,300 lbs. and can tow 20,510 lbs.

Crew Cab 4x4 DRW LWB Aisin 3.73 has a GCWR of 33,800 lbs. and can tow 25,010 lbs.

Crew Cab 4x4 DRW LWB Aisin 4.10 has a GCWR of 39,100 lbs. and can tow 30,310 lbs.

Crew Cab 4x4 DRW LWB G56 3.42 has a GCWR of 24,300 lbs. and can tow 15,610 lbs.

Crew Cab 4x4 DRW LWB G56 3.73 has a GCWR of 26,300 lbs. and can tow 17,610 lbs.

The Aisin is a medium duty transmission connected to a true medium duty diesel engine.

Aisin trannys are available only in 3500s, SRW and DRW, and come with 385hp/900 ft-lb engines.
G56 trannys come with 350 hp/660 ft-lb engines.

Higher numerical value rears, 4.10's, pull more than lower rears, 3.73 & 3.42. But the lower rears should get better MPGs.

G56s were the preferred trans for jobbers and such over the old 4 speed autos and the current auto, 68RFE.

I've heard nothing but good things about the Aisin, while the 68RFEs seem to need rebuilds after 110K or so.

I love to row my own gears (you can see my sig below) and that's what I would pick. The G56 never seems to break down but does need clutches some where around 150K. That's not all that expensive to fix, $2000 or so for the stock replacement.

For you, I guess it boils down to how much you need to tow.
