Hey all. I need help. And smarty wont give me any tech support because we bought our smarty jr from amazon. Wth?
Anyways. 2011 dodge 3500 6.7 cummins with 6 speed manual. Typically grossing 38 to 42000 lbs.
We have deleted the egr and cooler and have the most recent software on our smarty jr. 5" straight exhaust to be on in a couple days. In the meantime. I can't figure out how to get the dpf codes to go away. Also, I keep getting codes for low fuel rail pressure and no turbo boost after driving most of the day and then the truck acts like the Jake is on and I can't accelerate at all without shutting down for 20 to 30 min. Any ideas or help please?

No offense to you Sir, but I can understand why the folks at "Smarty" don't want to help you being you bought your unit off Amazon. It is because Amazon cuts the "bottom line" pricing for those units even below what the dealers pay for them!
IMHO,....that is not fair to the dealers or the folks at Smarty. Marco and Bob @ Smarty are GREAT people and they deliver an awesome product. My Son and I have been using their units in our trucks for a very long time now with EXCELLENT customer support and service. For your information, DTR has it's own "STORE" here on the website run by our own leader,....Mr. Lary Ellis (Top). Had you bought your Smarty from us or a legitimate Smarty Dealer you would have some "Tech Support"
right now.
However,....FWIW,...I had a friend that did the SAME thing you did and he ended up having to get a Dodge Dealer to clear his codes with a Dodge DRB Scanner. You may have a Smarty that does NOT have the capability to clear those codes Sir.
Anyway,.....sometimes the "savings" you see costs you more in the long run and some of the stuff sold on Amazon or E-Bay for our trucks fit right into that category!
Good luck!

So... I paid 500 bucks through a retailer that uses amazon... bc it was convenient to click buy and done from the app... and in doing so I get no help? I didn't purchase from Amazon as the retailer. Basically I have a useless brick then? ? I'm sorry that I didn't purchase from where everyone says to... but don't even think about trying to tell me that mads doesn't make money off of every unit they sell to a retailer. .. and for that I should get help like everyone else.
John P is right! You tried to save a few sheckles by purchasing from an unauthorized dealer that markets the product at a lower cost than the established MAP pricing. Now you want service after the sale? Why not contact the seller? Here is a link that you might want to review.

Mads Electronics has not manufactured delete capable tuners since early 2013 all the units that are currently for sale are "Performance" tune ONLY. Every unit shipped since March 2013 has firmware incapable of accepting delete capable software....this is likely the reason you can not get help from them as they can not help you make a non delete capable tuner do deletes.
Had you purchased from a Reputable Dealer they would have made sure you understood that the new units do NOT do deletes and should you be fortunate enough to find an older unit that will....you will pay a LOT more than $499.00 for it.
I would contact the seller and arrange for a refund.

One more quick question. The exhaust system we ordered is straight with no bungs for o2's... should I wait to install it until we get another tuner that will handle deletes? I don't really want to go into limp mode while trying to earn a living with the truck.
Blake, the option other than finding a older Smarty Jr./Sr. with the ME program, or a delete capable H&S or EFI Live tuner is ordering a RaceMe from Europe. Any of those options won't come cheap.
I'll look into those. Cost really isn't an issue as fuel savings will easily pau for it. If I can save buy 110 gallons per day instead of 120... It'll easily pay for itself. So... for egr and dpf delete and fuel savings with 40,000 lb gross weight average, what would you recommend?
I don't think I would have ever found the RaceMe on my own! Im just going to jump in here.....I own a '09 2500 HD with 62k miles. Last week my EGR and DPF went within 3 days of each other. I own this truck for my construction company and honestly did not know much about the engine. I have been reading nonstop on this site for the last 5 days and I love it. Anyway I ordered the Sinister EGR delete, and I want to order a pipe to delete the DPF....it only makes sense since having it all repaired will cost me around 5k. I don't need racing power or any of that stuff I just want all this emission BS gone without having the CEL lit all the time. So.....is this the only tuner to do it? I read that everyone seems to love the Smarty JR but it doesn't handle the deletes. I'm paying for this out of the company coffers so the price for the RaceMe isn't the end of the world, I'm still coming out ahead. Anyone have the RaceME? (First time poster and diesel novice....be gentle)
