Brake bleeding

My son ripped a drivers rear brake line off his 2011 after getting stuck with a 30ft dually gooseneck. We replaced the line, $25 from the dealer for the hard and flex line complete. When we went to bleed the brakes we were unable to get hardly any flow using a vacuum bleeder but when using the old fashion method of pumping the brake pedal it bled normally. Anyway just thought I would mention it.
