Brakesmart Install Tonight - Brake Bleeding Question

I'm doing my Brakesmart installation tonight and wanted to ask if there are any gotcha's while bleeding the brakes on my 2005.

I've never bled ABS brakes before. Is there an order to the bleeding operation? Driver rear, passenger rear, driver front, passenger front?

Bleeding is done with the engine stopped? Key off?

What brake fluid do I need to pickup and how much do I need?

Thanks in advance!

You wont need to bleed the brakes just to install the brakesmart.

brakesmart

According to the install instructions, jsut have someone hold down the pedal and loosen the sender a couple times. I did this on my 06 and it worked fine. No need to bleed at the calipers. Also, I did not have to use the supplied hydraulic hose. There was enough space to install the sender right off the T on the master cylinder..

Took me 5 minutes.

I second that (and replied to your other thread)... It's simple, and should not require bleeding the rest of the system, or use enough brake fluid to need to add any.

Installed and bleed per instructions. It was a breeze. My maintenance T ended up pointing at the Master Cylinder so I used the "just in case" hose.

I'll second that, too. I always thought electric drums weren't capable of very good performance. Then I got a Brakesmart and found they can be smooth and powerful with the right controller, and it makes towing much more relaxing.
