Block Heater Cord
Block Heater Cord
The temp was down below 30 last night so I thought that tonight I would plug my truck in so that it would be easier to warm up in the morning. Much to my surprise I found out that my truck didnt come with a cord. I thought all diesel trucks had em. The two Duramax I had previously both had one. So I did a search here and read a few posts and wound up buying the OEM one on EBay with shipping for around 40.00. This place is a great resource!
I love Geno's, only $16 http://www.genosgarage.com/prodinfo....EATER_CABLE_FL
They really hide the factory cord, it took me quite awhile to find mine. It has a cover on the end of it and is tied just behind the passenger side tow hook. Have a real close look there before buying one.

I strongly recommend the factory Dodge OEM part#. I bought it, even though it was a little more costly, and it fit flawlessly to the factory holes in the frame. There are black clips already manufactured to the cord and once you screw it onto the block the cable routes itself flawlessly in pre-placed holes via plastic clips. It is better, IMO, than ziptying to other locations. The OEM cable is weather wrapped and very sturdy. I would not recommend an alternate option unless you are doing it to solely save money. The one from Geno's works as described and has made many people happy. I will admit, at 30% the cost of an OEM part, it is well worth it to go aftermarket.
Hope this helps.
