Block Heater
Block Heater
I am a new member and a new owner of a new 2016, 3500 with the 6.7 & Aisin, neat vehicle. I did not order the cold weather package and realized, visiting Colorado, that it would come in real handy. I noticed the thread back in 2013 that Cummins installed the heater (not the wiring) on all engines that they delivered to Dodge, is that still true? Where do I find it on the engine and can it be installed now? Thanks for your help and any other advice you might have for a guy that parted with a trusty Ford 460 and made the transition to diesel. Do you guys use the Cummins site for information?
All true. Very near the oil filter you will find a black cap. Unscrew that a toss it. Well first order and get you block heater cord at Geno's Garage. A sponsor of this forum and the absolute best price you'll ever find. (hunt if you want to but we already did).
Then install the cor in place of the cap and route it up front in a good manner with some zip ties.
Then hollar BAM, cause you'll be done.
Tip: when you do plug in, hook the extension cord on the mirror or somewhere easy to see or one day you will have a long orange snake following you down the road.
