Block heater
Block heater
In keeping with the Mopar front cover thread, mine came with the cover also. There is also a line on the window sticker that says "Cold Weather Package" or something like that but there is no mention of a block heater?? And there is no plug readily apparent right under the hood? Why would they give me the front cover for cold weather but not the block heater?
Can one be installed?

If this is like the 08 MY trucks the block heater is already installed. You need to purchase the block heater cord from the dealer or aftermaket co.
Check out Geno's Garage .Com they have some realy neat items for the new 2010 and 2011 Ram HD trucks.

If it isn't there, go to napa and get one for about 20 bucks (instead of 55 at dealership). Then the plug that the cord will need to plug into will be on the block, slightly to the left of the oil filter or towards the firewall(when looking for it from under your truck). There is a small black plastic cap that covers the plug. You will most likely need a pair of pliars to get it off. Then getting the notches to line up right is another fun aspect of adding one on.

I actually took the heater cord off my ford and it hooked straight up to the cummins. The cord only took about 15 minutes to hook up, route to the front grill, and secure. It makes a huge difference in the winter. When it's plugged in and I start my truck it only takes a couple of minutes to get up to normal operating temperatures.
