2013 transmission issues

Got my new 2013, 3500 drw, automatic, Not Aisin, in Oct but its been back to the dealer 4 times for the same transmission issue. The first time was the week after I purchased it.

When its shifting between 4th and 5th it will jump about 500 rpms followed by a hard shift. It will also do it between 3rd and 4th but not as bad.

The dealer said they have done the following;
1st visit - Flashed ECM (?)
2nd visit - Installed "Upgraded" filter kit
3rd visit - replaced valve body
4th visit - They advised me that "STAR" told them this is "CHARACTERISTIC" at this time and no repair attempt is advised at this time.

I contacted Chrysler last week and filed a complaint, but haven't heard back from them yet.

Has anyone else had this issue ?
Any suggestion on what to do next?

Drive another one? See if it is a characteristic? I'd just keep complaining, I'm sure you paid a pretty penny for that truck. Does it happen all the time? Good luck in your fight. Might be something they are looking into and have nothing to come back with yet, unfortunately you have to deal with it.

Wrangler1:

Sorry to hear you are having problems with your new truck!

But, your post along with others here coupled with the troubles I see many of my friends having with the new 4th Gen Dodge CTD CR Trucks just reinforces my stance that I will NEVER own one of the new Dodge CTD CR 4th Gen Trucks!

I believe after 3 times for the same issue it is considered a lemon. Check with your state lemon laws and if it applies start the process and make them buy it back. My grandfather had a problem with an old Chrysler of his back in the 90's with the rear axle after three times of having the dealer try to fix it within the first year Chrysler bought it back.
