2013 Check Engine Light
2013 Laramie 6.7, 4 months old with 8800 miles, at 6,000 miles the check engine light came on. 4 trips to dealer since, they have replaced Exhaust temp sensor, engine control module and collected data and talked to factory and no fix yet. Truck is drivable while light is on, but might be damaging something. Remote start won't work with check engine light on, other than that REAL nuisance going in for service all the time. Going for visit #5 this week. Anyone had this or know of this problem?
Son was having problems from new with his 2013 Laramie throwing exhaust codes, the dealer did a re-flash update and the truck has not thrown a code since, I don't remember what the codes were though.
Fixed (I hope)
Picked up truck from 5th appointment yesterday and it appears to be fixed. They said they found the wiring harness to the Exhaust Temp Sensor grounding out on the trans bell housing (mounting bracket for harness attached here), therefore shorting to ground. Mechanic seems confident, sensor reading was 0 volts when it should have been 5 volts, repaired and tested, seems good for now. Anyone experiencing this issues, may have them check for shorts in this area.
