Auxillary tank blues

Really silly question. where is the lift pump? My friends swear its in the tank, my buddy who works on all sorts of big rigs swears its on the block like all the other CTDs out there. Need an answer so I can get the parts for my aux tank. Armchair tonight. Too lazy to crawl under truck unless my creeper has a beer holder.......

I am installing a bed mounted aux fuel tank. Does the CP3 have enough **** to pull the fuel from the aux tank without dropping pressure to the injection pump or do I need an inline pump? I am getting rumors of people just cutting into the fuel line and putting in a fuel switch valve and switch to kill the pump in the tank...
