2012 Dodge with Manual transmission

All,

I heard, (from a dealer) that the new 2012 would not be available with a 6 speed manual, but when I go to the Dodge.com website, you are able to build a truck with a 6.7 and manual. Do any of you know for sure you can get the 2012 with a manual? This is critical for me, because I'll wait for the 2012 if I can get a manual still.

Thanks!

Boy is that stupid. What differance does it make to have leather seats and a manual transmission.

A Longhorn with a manual was going to be my next truck

sometimes it is really crazy on the build site...when I was building a 2011 laramie it would not let me choose rugged brown color unless I chose the most expensive radio/entertainment system, 730n...If I chose the 430 system it said I had to to choose white or red or a couple other color choices. totally crazy...what does the radio system have to do with the color on the outside of a truck???????

anybody know for sure? I appreciate your anecdotal experiences, but I need to make a decision soon if I can't get one on a 2012 model. thanks!

I know for sure you can get at least a 2012 Laramie with the manual. I've seen pics on dealer websites. I do not know about the Laramie Longhorn, though.

From what I have seen the Longhorn edition only comes with the auto. Most likely Dodge is too cheap to tool up the leather folding center console/seat for the ten they would probably sell per year.

good to know. This gives me a little time to come up with some cash! I thought that 2011 would be the last year for them. Ford already did away with the manual transmission making Dodge the last solid axle diesel with a manual!

That's because Ford and GM can have an auto built as solid as a manual.

Also remember the 6.7L with the manual is derated on power, 610 ft lb tq. IIRC for 2012 all autos will have the 800 Cummins.

GM hasn't made a solid axle truck for many years.

GM dropped the manual with the debut of the '07.5 redesign. Ford dripped it with the '08 redesign.
