occasional death wobble 08 5500

I have an 08 5500, new shocks, had 2 shops inspect the front end finding no problems, but it will occasionally go into death wobble, and most of the time it is in the same spot of the same road. but my other 3 trucks don't do it. tire pressure is the same @ 85psi. any suggestions? they said it looks like a big tortion bar already, but aren't sure.

Alright guys, I got this one handled myself. I ordered a steering stabilizer kit from Rough Country for a 03-12 dodge ram 2500/3500. I cut the top flat bar off of the mounts, welded the mounts to my shock mounts, installed the rest of the kit as instructed, and the truck has never worked better.

Hello there, I've searched all over the internet and apparently you are the only person that has solved the Death Wobble on a 5500. I already bought several kits and nothing seems to fit my truck. Would you please be so kind to share the kit that you purchased and how you modified it? My mechanic is pretty creative but he has not been able to work out a solution for us.

Thank you very much for sharing this information!

there is the link. I don’t have that truck anymore so I can’t remind myself what I did. I did have to end up changing the front tires to fix it 100%, as something with the toe in or something wouldn’t adjust with the tires that were on it. But I did the front shocks and it helped a little also. The biggest help was the stabilizers. I quit wiggling into the barrow pit when I hit a bump.

Thanks, man, I really appreciate it. Let me try the stabilizers with new tires and see what happens. I'm tired of driving on the edge every time I'm about to hit a pothole.
