2008 4500 C&C Aisin better mpg whoas

Thanks for listening. Just got home from a trip from PA to FL and averaged 8.5 mpg(Hand calculated.) 28k on truck only used for hauling. Horse trailer gvw 25000 and camper gvw11200. took camper to FL and could not believe mpg. Reading alot about MP 8, egr delete, dpf removal, smarty, etc. Now that this type of truck has been out and running for 4 years, WHAT REALLY IS THE BEST WAY TO GO????

Did you try to improve your mpg. If you did what mpg did you get?

What did you tow to Florida ? The horse trailer or camper or both?

What Rear Ratio are you running. 4:44 ?

Do you tow in 6th gear or 5th gear ?

How Fast do you tow?

Have a friend that tows with the same truck with No Deletes. 17,600 lb camper. That equals 27,600 lb Gross combined weight. His truck weighs 10,000lb GCW 26,000 lb GCWR 26,000 lb. Truck don't care about the weight.
Gets 10.5

Depending on your answer, I may have some suggestions to increase you mileage.
