xm sat. radio question?

I have an Alpine multimedia head unit that is xm ready. I'm having trouble finding the receiver or what ever it's called to hook up xm to my stereo unit. I don't want the receiver that mounts in the cab, what I'm looking for actually goes behind the dash and hooks up to unit, and all controlling is done thru alpine unit. Anyone had experience with this?

Try checking this website: www.myradiostore.com It has all types of XM stuff. And is where I bought my XM adapter for the stock radio.

My truck is an ST with CD player, will the XM smart adapter work with mine too, even though I am not sure if it is satellite ready? Too many options on that site to know if any of them will work for me.

This is the XM unit I put in my mother's Expedition for her birthday this year and she loves it:

Currently, there is not an XM unit that I know of available for our factory headunit's that does not require an external XM receiver like this one. The hideaway unit's are all controlled through aftermarket headunits, as just about every brand of headunit has their own model specific XM connect kit.

Has anyone found a decent looking in-dash receiver kit.
Crutchfield makes one
But considering that most of our trucks have a smooth silver dash, it seems to me that the black textured 1/2 circles would stick out and look almost as bad as leaving the 1/2 cirlce holes open.
