Windshield Wipers Mind of Their Own?

Is it normal for the wipers when set on high to take a while to get to that speed? In other words they start slow and then a minute or so later start going fast? Is this the same for you guys?

Mine act weird from time to time. They will wipe 2x when they are on low, they will not come on when I turn the switch on. Stuff like that. I have not had them quit, yet. Took it to the dealer, and they said that they could not duplicate it.

You know that is weird... I just had this happen to me yesterday during a heavy rainstorm. I put them on low and then switched them to high and they did not speed up I did this a couple of times and then left them on high and they sped up after a couple of minutes. I turned them off and back on high and they were fast.

ya, mine start slow and speed up after acouple wipes.
I think its something to do with the wiper motors,
I think I seen recalls on those.

my 03 did this ,some times slow, sometimes not work for a couple sec. ,sometimes they would be working fine and then act as if they were in the delay mode then stop. turn off and on couple times and they start to work fine again. ALL WHEN IT WAS RAINING OF COURSE.slowly they got worse.finally took the switch off and disassembled it (easy to do)the grease that they put in from the factory was causing contact problems in the switch.after cleaning and reassembling thing were back to normal. i think heat caused the grease to melt and get in to the contacts. i had to do this twice because the first time i tried to leave some of the grease in the switch for lube in the sliding parts, second time just cleaned it all out and no more problems. hope this helps
