At cruise speeds I occasionally get excessive wind noise in both passenger and driver front door jambs. Is this normal? It seems the wind has to hit the jamb at just the right angle to cause the noise because it is only noticeable on windy days. I bought the truck about 2 months ago and just recently noticed it. If it matters the truck is a 04' CC 4x4.

 

I've got the same problem with my 03. Someone tell me how to fix!

 

I had the TSB's for the upper and lower door seals done. I can't say I've had a problem since.

mine has the same problem.
it has a loud wind noise when there is cross wind. it happened at about 12000 miles.
i was thiking of taking it to the dealer to fix but i have a leveling kit in the front and i was thinking they might try to blame that. i got the leveling kit at about 6000 miles so i dont think thats the problem

 

i had noise for awhile , i then adjust the door latchs in just alittle made a big difference

 

Does this T S B require the seals to be torn already? Mine are in fine shape, but yes, they can be loud as heck sometimes. Reminds me of my old '84. Will they replace "good" seals? 2004- 12,200 miles as of 4-27-06

 

My 2003 does the same thing , I think I am going to call the dealer to see If I can put the later years Door jam on my truck I will let you all know what I find out.

 

Noticed the same on the '06 we just bought. I also noticed that after I put "Vent Visors" on the windows, it was decreased. Possibly it altered the air flow around the top of the window. Will ask the dealer about it.

The dealer blamed the vent visors on mine for the wind noise. Said they cause a vaccum that pulls the door outward. ????

 

I had the problem before and after I put "Vent visors" on.
BTW they make there own noise...a bit of a rattle sound.
I may take em off.

I had the TSB "A" pillar seal done....no change in noise.
I had the door seal changed recently and it helped.
I also ran a strip of 3/4x 1/2 inch(I think) closed foam generic gasket...you know the kind, sticky one side, between the two upper door seals on the cab, length wise.
This helped a bit and was cheap.
In a cross wind and at some highway speeds you can actually feel the door being sucked away from the cab.
As others have mentioned probably the best fix is a door adjustment.
I don't really think this is a door seal problem.
I did not have the problem on the passenger side and you could see by looking at the top of the cab that the passenger door had a tighter clearance that the driver's side.
When I got my truck back from the recent drivers door seal replacement the drivers side clearance seemed to be better.
Maybe they did a door adjustment...still not a Lexus... but much better.
Good luck...not a critical issue...but annoying for a 50K truck.

 

When is somebody going to finally invent a latch that you can close after you get in the truck to pull the doors in and hold them tight to the body. Often at speed with a crosswind you can actually feel the top of the door being pulled away from the body. On accessories I've solved alot of noise probs by removing aftermarket bug deflectors.

 

You did not hear this from me, but say for some reason you were cleaning them and they tore. Who's to say you did it?? KNow what I mean.

 

Cleaning?!?!?! Don't you know cleaning your truck will void the warranty???
