Wind buffeting with camper on
Wind buffeting with camper on
I haul a 8.5 ft camper on my 04 Dodge 2500 quad cab. With the camper on, and driving into the wind, there is a lot of buffeting on the front doors. The doors actually vibrate enough to let air and rain water come in between the door and the rubber weather stripping.
Is anybody else having this problem?
Any ideas on how to eliminate the problem?

Wow, I've got a tall cap on my quad cab, and high winds occasionally move me around but nothing's vibrating the doors. Just to get a visual, is part of your camper tied to the cab somehow? My cap doesn't touch the cab at all, only the bed.
No, the camper doesn't touch the cab, but it is a cab over camper that extends as far foward as the windshield. I only have about 3" clearance butween the top of the cab and the bottom of the camper. The wind seems to speed up or something when it gets in this narrow 3" gap.
That wind between the camper and the cab is my biggest complaint with truck campers. Someone needs to make a good aerodynamic wind deflecter to go in there. People used to use a "blow-up donut thing" but I never see them anymore.
