Hi All,
I have been reading the forum for a while, but I finally have a question I need a little help. I have an '01 with 295/75/16 and an getting a '03 with stock 17" tires and rims. Is it possible to switch these two sets?
'01 tires and rims <-> '03 tires and rims?

Would any modifications be needed on either vehicle?

This one has been covered on here before. The 16 inch wheels will not clear the larger brakes on the Gen 3s. You must use 17 inch or larger wheels. Just crawl under the rear and check the existing wheel to brake caliper clearance. You will easily see why they will not fit.

 

But the 03' will fit on the 02' and Below

 

The offset is also different on the 03.

 

yea, I just tuned into that the other day, in talking with an after market tire store -- this is a store that does a lot of work with my local dealer for new truck tire/wheel packages. Anyway, the tire store told me that the 03s come with a positive offset (meaning wheels towards the frame). I'm putting a zero offset wheel on my 04.

 

I have recently ran into a problem with aftermarket 17" wheels. The problem is that most of the aftermarket 17's can't clear the brakes. If you look at the way Dodge put a lip on the inside of the wheel and compare to aftermarket wheels you will se why. Found this out while trying to go with a set of Helo Maxis. So it looks like 18" Helo's with 325's
