Width of bed front and back?

Width of bed front and back?
Anyone notice that the bed is 3-1/4 inches wider in the front than the rear?
My long bed dually is. I noticed this while measuring for a bracket around my aux fuel tank. Measurements were taken at top inside of bed rail.
