Hey guys hows it goin? I'm not here to ruffle any feathers or offend anybody. But does anybody else think that the front end on the 06 and up trucks is just plain ugly? Then there is the mega cab. I think that it is the most ugly truck I have ever seen. Its like 3 different trucks got together and made an inbred pickup. Once again I hope I dont offend anybody we all have different tastes I was just curious if I'm the only one or not. Later fellas.

 

i am mixed on the 06+ part of me likes it and part of me does not. dont get me wrong i would not kick one out of my garage. IMO the 2nd gens look the best and i like the look of the 03-05 also.

 

They all look about the same to me.

 

Ditto with Hounddog. If you want to see an ugly truck look at the Chevy :>)

I have had both 04 and 06 models and I like both designs.

 

I'm going to echo Peterbilt's comments. I mean, seriously, how ugly are those fender wells and front ends on the Chevy? I actually like the looks of my Mega, though I think the lift and tires help balance the truck out better.

 

The 94 to 2002 were the best looking trucks, for me. I didn't like the 03 at all when it came out, but it grew on me. The 06 with it's really big head lights was just really ugly at first, until I bought one. Now the 06 looks the best out of all of them. I just can't get use to the "Megacab" at all though, they look ok when they are lifted 6" and have at least a 37" tire.

But it's all about your own personal taste. Shoot, I'm starting to like the looks of the new Fords, there are a few running around with lifts and tires, they look good.

 

I had an 04 and now have an 06. I did think the 04 was a better looking truck, but the mega cab rocks for interior space...

I also liked the dashboard on the 04 better...

The only thing I think is odd about the looks of the mega cab is the box seems short compared to the balance of the truck... this is less noticable on a dually or lifted truck with big tires IMHO...

but in general I like the looks of my 06 mega cab and it is an awesome tow vehicle....

I agree with most of you.The 2nd gens where/are awesome.They will always be a classic and noted as the ones to restart the lower fender design.I remember seeing a pic of one for the first time back in 93.I was looking through a magazine while floating on an aircraft carrier in the Persian Gulf.Its the only truck I ever saw and instantly thought it looks great.Fortunately I have 2 01 3500's now to enjoy.I also have an 05 and love it.The 06 and up have grown on me as well and done up right they can look better than the 03-05.Only thing that the 06 and up have I don't like and never will is the interior.I'll take my 05's any day over them.

 

I think the headlight and grill design is the best look out of the third gens...


And leave us man vanners alone.. LOL

 

LOL. An inbred pickup. If anything, I always thought of it as a mutt: a cross between the 03-05 and 07-09. This mutt is the best I have owned.

The 06 front grew on me. It looks like a smile. To me, it favors the Freightliner Cascadia Class rigs. I hoped engineers would take more style hints from larger rigs anyway.

 

I love the look, and it's not just because I own one. I own one because I love the look, and took the mileage hit knowing very well what I was getting into. It's all personal preference, at first I thought the 03 style was best but as I looked more and more I feel in love with the 06+ laramie and the interior is really very nice.

You can't honestly say this looks bad though?! I guess it's all personal preference, no offense taken though I love 'em all just the same! And yea, that's my second gen in the background too...

 

I had an 05 before my 07. I liked the looks of the 05 headlights better but my 07's headlights work much better. I hated driving my 05 at night because of this. Otherwise, besides the ugly Durango tail lights, I love the 07.

 

The headlights on the 03'-05' look terrible,its almost like they were an after-thought. Oops...almost forgot the headlights,better slap a set in wherever they'll fit.

I like the headlights on my '07 much better.

I'll agree about the Megacab though. Good lord they're ugly. I've seen one...maybe two that I thought looked good. The rest just don't look right.

 

I have to admit that is a nice looking truck. And yellowhemi I totally agree about the headlights on the 03-05. They dont seem as bright as they should be. The low beam with fog lights on is good but as soon as I switch the high beams on it is like what the f!$? just happened.
