White Smoke, Does the TSB Help?

Hey guys,

All of a sudden, I am getting alot of white smoke from my truck; even when I have had it plugged it and even after it is warmed up and been running. What exactly is the cause of the white smoke and does the TSB flash really solve the problem? Is there anything else that I can do to eliminate the problem. The black smoke I like; but the white smoke is embarassing. I feel like I am driving some 1970 Dodge Dart!

Any help is appreciated!

You mean I don't have enough, or am burning it? I have checked all the fluids and levels when Iw as making sure I had the engine heater cord about 4 days ago.

As in, steaming it off out the exhaust......

How much are we talking here? Does it go away once fully up to temp.?

Let's say on a scale from 1-10 the white smoke is a 10 at cold start and low idle. It mostly goes away if you can get the idle up to 1500RPM or more. Once up to temp the smoke does not come back unless it is sitting in low idle or when first engaging a gear (e.g., 1st, 2nd, Rev.)

Sounds like the white smoke flash is in order... make sure the dealer doesn't flash anything else unless you OK it first!

Do you think it is dirty injectors or what? I don't know what causes white smoke.

Sure - it can, but there was a TSB on the (early?) '05s for white smoke at start-up & idle... mine did it a few times until I got religion with PS.

With all of your power bombing, I'd expect HG issues, but...

Since your white smoke only occurs at start-up & idle - I think your fueling mods may be exacerbating the white smoke TSB issue. Have you worked your truck HARD with those mods? I would definitely run silver PS through it - can't hurt anything!

p.s. don't forget - you're far from broken-in
