Where was your truck made?????

I was checking out Dodge H.D.s at the dealer today and noticed all the 2500 and 3500 are made in Mexico!!!! [undecided]

However it appears the 1500 are made in Missouri.

What does everyone think about that??? ??? Any quality concerns with the Mexican big trucks???? I am still undecided between a dodge h.o. 6 speed crew cab s.b. and a GMC duramax allison crew cab s.b. .... :P But I know one thing. The Chevy/GMC are made in the good ol' USA!

Papaperk, hate to disillusion you but I suspect that if you dig a little that you will find that the GMC/Chev is only ASSEMBLED in the USA. Check out all the stuff that goes into it and see where the parts come from. Other guys with more knowledge than me about this will probably chime in

Well for starters the engine is made in Ohio and the trans is made in Indy right next to the track I think. As for the rest of the truck I am not for sure. I know it is a world market but I would still rather buy an American "assembled" truck.

Mine is a 2500 and it was made in Fenton Missouri and I am sure happy with it and as far as the Mexican or US think I am neutral, I am Canadian.
Jim o

I kinda like the fact that my truck is from mexico. Now when I go on the annual trip to mexico it will be like homecoming week for the truck. I'll have to throw back a few margarita's in honor of it. ;D

Re:Where was your truck made?????

Yup, Ram CTDs are made in the Mexico Saltworks now. Quality control is much better than N St. Louis. There was a post a while back about a Ram delivered for St L, MO with the bed installed 6 inches out of alignment. Doesn't say for quality control if they missed one that bad.

One thing about the Mexican workers. After taking a Princess Cruise to Mex Rivera this March. We met several Waiters, Stewards, Crew Members who were from Mexico. Our Room Steward was from Mexico. They all were hard working and busted their buns to do a good job and please the customer, no lazy ones just working for the pay. They constantly did well above what was expected of them. I can't say to much for their constant display of courtesy with a smile. The definately had pride in their work.

My $0.02.

100 Proof, DuraMaxiPad Diesels are Nipponese by Issuzu The aluminum comes from recycled Al beer cans.

Re:Where was your truck made?????

that bed alignment sounds like urban legend. mounting tabs prevent that type of error. same truck no matter where it is made and they are made very well indeed. well one complaint, the horn is lousy sounds like one of the asian imports.
