So if a guy was going to go and get a 3rd gen what would be the year of choice? Would it be wise to go new to the 6.7 or wait a while on it until it's been around longer. Just feeling this out.

04.5 to 06 or early 07.

 

Opinions vary. Here's mine.

I've owned both at 04.5 and a 07.5. I prefer the 07.5, mostly because of the new 6 speed automatic. I didn't have any major problems with the old truck and have not had any major problems with this new one. I just like the driving manners of the newer truck which is due in large part to the better transmission.

 

if your looking for better gas milage then 03-04 would be a good choice. I suppose it depends on how much you want to spend too...
