What tires to get
you're typically not going to get many miles out of an offroad tire on a heavy tow rig
i do a lot of jeeping and am familiar with nittos tires, if you get 30k out of them id be surprised
he says he does a lot of heavy towing, an offroad tire will get eaten up

Yes, I said it, call me a heretic...
Yes, BFG's in my experience suck if you do any type of offroad driving that might involve rocks, stumps or roots. The sidewalls are too weak. I decided to stop buying BFG's after about the 6th replacement tire over the course of 3 trucks. You barely rub up against a stump or root in a rut and blammo!! busted sidewall.
Just my opinion, and we all know what those are like. My money wont go to BFG ever again. IMO, they are for looks or trucks that going off road means driving on a dirt road or through a cow pasture 3 times a year. Cooper, Dunlop and Interco is who I'll endorse after many years of reliable service. I cant comment on the Nittos, never owned a set. I hear good things though.
I drive offroad ALOT. My truck spends most of fall and winter covered in clay, mud and cow crap.
Also, rockhound is right. You're not going to get a long life out of an offroad tire towing alot. thats why I run Bridgestone Duelers in spring/summer and once hunting season rolls around, I've switched to Swamper SSR's.

i have mickey thompson radial atx 285/75/17 on mine, have about 5k miles on them so far and really like them good ride and not to loud on highway seem to be wearing ok so far they are d rated 3195lb i think
i agree about the bfg's off road however i don't use my dually off road, that is what the jeep is for
the dually just has to get it to the trailhead
any full size dually will pop tires offroad if for no other reason than sheer weight i don't care what tire you're running
