Angry What should we do about these seats???!!!

Hello all,

I have read alot of complaints concerning the 2003 and 2004 seats. I have the cloth 6 way power seats. After about 30 minutes of driving my leg starts hurting and my back begins to ache. I am 6'4" and weigh around 200 lbs. The lower lumbar of the seat is to pronouced. Even with the lumbar adjustment all the way in it is still too much.

I would love to know how other people have delt with the problem. These seats are very firm and become very uncomfortable after an extended amount of time. I have considered removing some of the lumbar foam from the seat. Of course I have to remove the seat from the truck and take it to the upholestry shop. I wish there was a simpler solution.

Other than that I really like my truck. Will get around 19.2 mpg on the interstate. Not bad for a 6.5' tall, 7000+ lbs, 4x4 monster.

I find them very uncomfortable as well. I end up adjusting the power seat everytime I get into the thing. Not sure what it is but if you find a solution be sure to post it.

I'd be more than happy to swap seats out with ya. My 01 has NO lumber support AT ALL. Talk about putting an arch in your spine.

I have the manual cloth seat in mine, don't really have any issues with support, they are a bit firm, but noticed that my jeans don't slide on the material when adjusting my position. I have to actually raise up off the seat, and sit down in new position, can't scoot around to get comfortable.

I too feel the seats have way too much lumbar support. Since I am also 6'4", I was wandering. How tall are you all that don't have any problems?

Does anybody know of or have the Texas Ranch Edition seats in there Dodge? They look like the King Ranch in the Ford which I thought was pretty comfortable.

5'7"... Seat is very comfy...I usually spend from 10 to 12 hours a day in there. I've had two crushed vertebrae and can't say that for very many seats. Now the back seats on the other hand....

I agree that the seats are uncomfortable. I am 5'9"s and think that the seats shove my lower back forward while not supporting my shoulders well. My other half also complains about the passenger seat after 5 hours of driving. All in all they are about as comfortable as the wore out bench seat in my 79 chevy beater. Not the best but easily tolerable.

I thought I was crazy when I first got my truck, my lower back hurt bad. Took me about three months and now the only time I have a problem is when I don't drive my truck for a while (I won't be in it for a week when camping) then I have to get used to it again. I'm fine now, 6' ~240#

I'm a lightweight at 6'1" and 180lb. The only problem I have with the seats is that they pick up every piece of lint!
Hope you guys get it figured out. Summit Racing sells some nice leather truck seats if you have the $$$....

I actually like the 04 Dodge seats comfort wise more than my old 2001 GMC SLT seats.

If you have troubl with pain in the legs, try making the back higer than the front. That helps reduce blood restriction.
