Could have been the fuel. The dealer filled it for me; but I was standing next to the girl running the CAT scale while she printed out my weight receipt.

I think I can assume my truck weighs approximately 7,000 pounds.

Yes, they are concerned with weight. Just not like you and I. Even companies like UPS let them slide. I'd imagine the cars and trucks are more my the train car than the weight. My 2003 longbed 2wd ctd is over 7200. I just can't remember how much over. I think close to 7500 and that was with a half tank. Keep in mind that truck scales are often "off" a little (read A LOT).
