That is what I thought at first but when I put it in 4 hi, you can tell. Like I said, it does not do it all the time.

At first, my left axle u-joint would not give me that "loping", 4 wheel drive on pavement feeling, all of the time. Than it started doing it all of the time when turning. Had both sides changed at 71,000 miles.

Then it does sound like u-joints then. I will have to wait till I get back from the Caribbean in 2 weeks to get it checked out.

If you are dropping it off at dealer, just leave it there as the parts will be on National Backorder

LoL! funny but all too often true!
I had to have mine done at the Dealer because I needed it done "right now" (long trip etc.). If you decide it is the u-joints, try to get it done someplace that can put greasable u-joints on it for you (if possible). I dont know how you could check it yourself without a lift, maybe somebody else can chime in.

When I get back from the Caribbean a week from Sunday, I will take it to a good Cummins guy in Golden, CO. He will put the greasable u-joints in for me. I talked to him on the phone and he agrees that it sounds like the u-joints and although I usually do my own work on most everything. I don't feel like doing this one.
