What is it?

Can someone tell me what this is. It's under the truck near the driver door. I broke the bolt that hold the bracket on by hitting it getting out from under the truck on a creeper. I then just wondered what is does. It has a plug to it with about 4 wires going into it. It's on a 08 6.7. Thanks
