washer fluid heater

I would like to get heated washer fluid but don't want an additional elec load.
I had a Saab in the mid 80s that a metal tube spilced into the radiator hose. Wound around this metal tube was a smaller tube the diameter of the washer fluid tube. The fluid ran through this coil picked up heat and was warm. Obviously the engine had to be warm but it worked well.

Any one seen anything like this for the CDT

I'm sure you could rig something up using copper tubing wrapped around the exhaust. It shouldn't be very hard.

I think Canadian tire has an 12V unit that heats the fluid.

Just curious - any reason you don't want the additional electrical load? Are you fully utilizing the output of your alternator currently? An electrical unit has several distinct advantages...

Wrapping a heat transfer tube around or even near the exhaust system will probably boil the fluid out of the line, or make the fluid hot enough to possibly crack a cold windshield when the super hot fluid is dispersed onto it. Just food for thought.

Good luck in your search.

I have seen them sold on Geno's also. Thought about purchasing it. They also have heated wiper blades.
