Used 2003 CTD
Used 2003 CTD
I am looking into buying a used 2003 Dodge 2500 CTD. What do you think they are going for used? Since 2005 are on the way how much do you think they are worth. I need the full 4 doors with kids and all.
prices holding well. Last I checked, the bank quoted value at around 34k. That was several months ago. I really think you would be better off buying new. You will not save much going used...unless you don't want the 600 engine. If that is the case, add 2k more to the 03 value

I see them at dealerships here for $33-34,000.00 all the time. I'm happy to see them holding their value because that's what I paid for mine..
I agree that you can still get a new one for that price...... Don't pay attention to the sticker price......

Rank Ram
Im located in New Jersey. So a new Ram with a CTD would be around $30 to $35k. Man, I did not want to spend that much. Anyone know of any good Dodge dealers in New Jersey that have good prices??
Thanks

Keep in mind that the trade in value is still around $27-$28,000 for a low mileage one so you have plenty of room to negotiate..I haven't checked the actual values in a few months but you can go to KBB.com or Edmunds.com to get the current values.
The 01s and 02s are going for a good bit less and you can still find them with low mileage too....

I paid $34500 for mine new, and that included having leather fitted (which looks great) and $2,000 cash towards the wheels I have.
As they are trying to "run out" the 2004 models there are great deals out there. I had to go to 4 dodge dealers to get the deal I wanted.

Dodgezilla, the 2001 and 2002 would be fine if I didn't have kids and all but I need a truck with 4 doors that open independently. I was going to look at Ford but I really wanted a Cummins engine. If i find something used I will need to find a diesel mechanic to go through the engine to make sure everything is ok.
JD, I hear what you are saying about the doors but even though the doors look much bigger there is really not that much more room back there. I think it's only about 4-6". Also, it sure was easier loading stuff in the cab of my 98 quad cab because of the suicide type doors. I wish I had those doors back...
As far as the engine goes, just make sure you have good oil pressure and look for signs of BOMBing. Although many of us are BOMBing our trucks, many people tear them up and then remove the mods and sell the truck as stock again without telling you that they have all but destroyed the trans or turbo etc....
Good luck...............
