Unadvertised rebate/discount

Just found out there is a Military appreciation discount/rebate for $750. Wanted to order a new truck to my specs on Thursday but just couldn't get to where I needed to be (even though they offered a smokin' deal); dealer found out about the Military program Friday (she's checking to see if she can get in a late order). Oh well, there are 2 trucks she located that are close enough to what I want and we're working with those. Anyway... I guess this program has been in effect since April but they're just getting the word out now. According to how she's reading the announcement, she thinks the Farm Bureau and Military programs are mutually exclusive. Anyone used these programs together?

Also, any thoughts on getting a truck from earlier in the year rather than a new factory order? I know to have the axles checked, but what else should I look for? Any paint problems (Patriot Blue) before the QC thing? I know where this truck is located and have actually test driven it and I didn't notice anything..... Thanks.
Re: (BIGGER) Unadvertised rebate/discount

OK, so today I find out that the Military discount is $750 plus an additional $250 (active and retired military) through the 2nd of June. It's incompatible with the Farm Bureau credit.

Now, the question is will this be renewed after 2 Jun? I have to sell my truck first before I can get into a new one so can't jump now. This is one of those special programs that only works when you take delivery. In other words, if you've ordered a truck (while the military thing was in effect) but take delivery after it expires, you're not locked in like the regular rebates.

Anyone have any thoughts on whether they'll raise incentives, renew the special bonuses etc? Sheesh - gotta get an ad in the paper today!

Only the gurus at DC can tell you that one. But, in this economy, I can't see them reducing the incentives.

IMHO, Hunter

Re:Unadvertised rebate/discount

I just placed and order after a quote over the phone of going under invoice. As the deal was closing I was told that the invoice price to order a truck had gone up about $300.

Is it true that the 03 invoice price would go up during the year or did they pull a fast one on me? How would I be able to tell the truth?

no, no fast one....

Well, probably not. The prices have been creeping up all year. If you negotiated invoice +/- and then they put it in the computer, the price you pulled off the internet might be out of date.
