Unable to grease tie rod end
Unable to grease tie rod end
I greased the driver's side tie rod end, but when I tried greasing the passenger side there was complete resistance at the grease gun, so I removed the grease fitting and cleaned it out and put it back in, still no grease was able to move.
I pulled the fitting out again and sprayed the hole with carb cleaner, hoping it was just a chunk of dirt or something. Reinstalled the fitting and still cant grease it. So..... I switched the fittings from one side to the other. I could still grease the driver's side but unable to grease the passenger side.
Any ideas? I just had the upper ball-joint replaced last month. The truck has 45,000 miles.

Like larrybartlet mentioned. Try jacking up that side high enough so the tire is off the ground. This takes pressure off of the suspension components and may allow you to get grease into the fitting. Remember to use the proper safety equipment such as jackstands to support the weight of the vehicle.
