UConnect Troubleshooting

I've found that when dialing numbers from my phone with the UConnect coupled, that rougly 60% of the time the bluetooth will lose connection 1-2 sec after hitting send on the phone. It does automatically reconnect, but that takes about 4-5 seconds, including needing input from me on the phone's faceplate to approve it. This disconnection and then delay with the reconnection is not only annoying and distracting, but sometimes the person on the other end has already answered in the meantime and is waiting for me to talk. My phone is a Samsung A707 aka cingular Sync. Anyone else having these problems?

I cant help you but have to tell you this. I had never heard of UConnect. Tried to look it up and got a bloody **** site. Really confused me and wondered what you were doing in your truck and how it affected your driving. Finally found the right sites. Neat system, hope you get it working better.

I use U-connect a lot. Actually I rely on bluetooth connectivity for business communications (e.g., I run my portable office through a bluetooth cellular gateway for commnication). I have had similar problems with bluetooth connections using other bluetooth accessories and my guess is that the problem is with your phone. If you are experiencing disconnect and then reconnect it is usually phone related; not accessory related. If you have a friend with a bluetooth phone you should try pairing it with your truck and see if his/her phone will work.

Hope you figure it out. U-Connect is awesome when it works right.

Been using mine for the last 18 months....a few issues have been 1) enunciating clearly to get the right menu and 2) waiting 1-2 seconds after answering a call, and finding out recently that's probably also my problems with some of the menu options. i.e. call v. dial 3) rarely i'll lose a call due to bluetooth signal. If I do notice it particularly weak, I leave the phone in the center console.

HTH

UConnect Troubleshooting

I leave my phone inside the cubby hole by the Nav unit. I use the U-connect 90% of the time when dialing. Most of the numbers I call are already programed in U-connect and all I have to do is push the phone icon on the rearview miror, wait for the "U-connect" prompt and say call "mom" or whatever. Never had a single problem with connectivity. Make sure your phone is close to the radio since I believe that is where the receiver for the bluetooth is. Hope this helps.

The receiver module and control box for the bluetooth is in the mirror. Had mine replaced and all they did was replace the mirror.

I have a 2007 2500 with NAV but no blue tooth Uconnect. If I get the after market mopar one that is not on the rear view mirror, will I still be able to interact with the NAV system features like... Call POI, caller ID display and Emergency Calls?? Anyone know this answer. Thanks

Overall, I have been very dissappointed in my self-install UConnect. I have a new Moto Gold flip. My phone is also not listed.... It is THE most popular phone on the planet! Here is the part that sucks...THERE ARE NO SOFTWARE UPGRADES FOR UCONNECT!!!! So, if that 2002,3,4,5-phone works, don't EVER upgrade the phone....you will be outta luck!

My phone drops the connection like it should, UConnect stays locked on and will not repond. All methods as per UConnect says, "I'm sorry, your phone is not compatable"......Thanks for a dead-end product!

If your phone is bluetooth compatible it should work. Call Samsung or look in the owners manual for the phone and see what version bluetooth it's running on and then see what version the U-connect is. Have you tried to re-learn the phone to the U-connect? Does cingular have a number you can call to see if there is any software/version updates for your phone? Verizon does and that helps out alot. We have U-connect in our Pt Cruiser and it works great!

Thanks for the tip...I'll check into it. Of course the phone didn't come with the $50 USB cable required to get the software update onto it. I think I may just be on the look out for a new phone.
