turbo timer?
Most remote starters have a turbo timer option if you have a use for one. Personally I don't feel it matters how it works (time or temp) since I've never seen it take longer than a minute to reach the 300/350 range even after a hard run. If it's 600deg when you pull into a parking lot by the time you park it's usually down to about 400, so another minute should be sufficient. To be honest I hardly ever use mine. My truck is a 6spd so by downshifting before I get to the driveway cools mine down, but if I'm towing I may set it for a couple of minutes just to use it.
I've got a question. What's a turbo timer? I've picked up a 2500 CTD 5.9 w/ a 6spd. Is this something I should be looking into? I know the turbo needs to cool (for the bearing oil) before shutting the truck down. Is that only after hard driving (towing etc...)?
