Truck Wont Start
Truck Wont Start
Hey Everyone,
My truck has stopped running, it will turn over but will not start.
My last post I was told to try and check the fuel pressure. My question is how do I do this with out a guage kit or can it be done without one?
I checked out the local auto parts stores here and no one has a guage kit for a diesel motor.
Thanks

I assume you're wanting rail pressure and not lift pump pressure?
For rail pressure the DRB3 scan tool will be needed, or a rail pressure gauge from Quadzilla or DiPricol.
Troubleshooting purposes remove any external performance boxes to rule them out first.

I'm thinking "they" want you to test fuel pressure from the lift pump at the tank to the engine. This needs only about a 30 psi gauge and a fitting to get to the fuel filter canister. This might require a tapped banjo bolt or similar to fit into the lines to/from the filter/pump.
Secondly, drain the filter like you would for a filter change and cycle the key to see if you can get the lift pump to fill the canister. If not, you have found your problem.
