I have the RDS from Northern Tool also... Make sure you have the LWB truck before you order! I have the 60Gal tank/box combo and the switcher valve so that it will read on the stock fuel gauge for both tanks.
I can go about 1500-1800 miles between fillups.... I can usually last through the pricing fluctuations... until recentlly...

I also have the RDS from Northern Tool. I have the short box so I had a local welder cut the corners of the 60 gallon tank so it would fit between the cab and the wheel wells. I gravity feed into the main tank.

I have a question about plumbing the tank. I ran the outlet through a Racor 2 micron filter into the vent tube on the main tank and it doesn't flow at all well. Should I tap into the main tank fill tube?

its probably your 2 micron filter... thats pretty restrictive for a gravity flow..

I have a 30 gallon Transferflow and really like it. Since my truck is a short bed with gooseneck hitch I went with 30 Gal. When both tanks are full it gives a nice crusing range. Just remember that as you get into the larger tanks you are adding significant weight in tank+fuel+tools. The transfer flow tank alone weighs 175# empty (all steel internal baffled tank + aluminum skins outside including tool box) plus an additional ~200# when full of fuel plus whatever else you put in the tool section. The toolbox section is not huge but I managed to get a LOT of stuff in it by careful arrangement.

The Transfer flow is DOT approved with transfer pump and digital gauge that gives you AUX and main tank levels and allows your stock guage to indicate the total combination of both tanks together. However TF it is quite pricey but it is very well built and has been quite reliable thus far.

I installed it myself (by myself) and it is not hard if you read the instructions very carefully a couple of times and aren't in a hurry. I did it over a weekend starting at noon and finishing up the next day. The TF kit has 100% of what you need to do the install. You just need to supply tools, a good back (its heavy to get in the bed by yourself) and a cold six pack after the job is complete for your reward!

I also have the 60 gal. RDS combination Fuel/Tool Box. This is the second truck I have put RDS tanks into. Alot cheaper than most of the others, but good quality product.

Try DeeZee they make a great 100g toolbox combo all diamond plate with d rings for lifting in /out. Usually beating most other prices. I can post one in the classifieds if you'd like I've got an extra. PM me.

Chalk another up for the 60 gal RDS ........ nice unit . Just let it gravity feed and use your stockfuel gauge , when it starts moving off full your aux tank is empty . Simple and no selector valves ,etc to go bad .

I have been running the DeeZee 100gal L shaped tank with the tool box welded to it for two years now and have not had any troubles with it. I did have to modify the tool box to allow room for the fifth wheel when turning, the tool box sits about 4 inches above the the bedrails so I cut the tool box loose and took 4 inches out of the bottom of it and welded it back in. I am into it only $860, $760 origanal purchase and a $100 for the tool box mod. It is not tied into the oem tank but could be very easily, I work in construction so I fuel equipment of the tank more than I fill the dodge. Plus heck after 500 miles of driving it's a good reason to stop and stretch the legs.

RDS makes a good tank. They also have a great new installation kit for gravity feed which is a snap to use. I did a write up (with pics) before they had their new install kit - - you will find it under Tech Facts. You do not want to tie into the vent line - - that can make the install a NO NO with highway dept.
