Truck issues (A/C and Front end components)
Truck issues (A/C and Front end components)
Well I guess 71,000 is the magic number for me on my mileage. Not had any problems up to now.
1st- While in IL I had my truck serviced at a local Dodge Dealer. I was informed of a recall on the steering that needed done. Upon driving back to Texas I found the steering wheel was no longer centered. Contacted IL dealer and they said my local dealer in TX should be able to fix it, still under the recall. My wonderful local dealer (sarcasm), told me I had to pay and have the IL dealer pay me back. I attempted to argue the point but it did no good. Went to Dealer I bought the truck at (40 minute drive) and they fixed it. However I was informed that the Upper/Lower Ball joints were going bad along with some other steering components. What ticks me off is that at 60,000 just before my extended warranty went out I had the local Dodge service department look at my truck and see if the ball joints needed to be replaced since my warranty was about to run out. Apparently they were just fine so now I am left with expensive repairs and not warranty. Love this Dodge dealership.
2nd- Day after finding out about the front end issues my A/C goes out. But at least I live in Texas and its only 101 degrees outside so no biggie.
Just had to vent a little.

Sorry to hear this. We already talked on the phone.
Check with XLR8R on the front end stuff before you pay to have it done. I'd definately stay away from the dealer. I really think Bonham may just be trying to drum up some work since you don't seem to be having any issues with it anyway. If you BJs were bad, surely there would be some sort of outward sign to you for you to know that.
As far A/C....gotta have it here! CB automotive are prob as good as any.
Good luck and let me know what happens.

Jack the front end up on one side just enough to get a prybar under the tire and then lift up on the prybar. Should not have too much play in the up and down motion, some but not much.
Texasram2500, I too had the same experience with my dealership. Went in before the warranty expired to check the front end, they said everything was good to go, 20k later got a recall on the steering and now everything needs to be done. Funny how that works out. I guess it doesn't help that I'm lifted and run a bigger tire and wheel combo. I've put lots of $ into mods without thinking twice but it doesn't feel the same when the $ goes to repairs.
I know. To top it off my A/C compressor went out. I live in Texas and drive a black truck, so I was able to hold off the repairs for about 25 minutes before I was so hot I had to give in and take it to get it fixed. Should be back today.
