i got transfer flows catalog and price sheet and almost fainted. $1800 for inbed tool box with 52 gallon tank and transfer controller. ouch. dont want one that bad.

i am gonna buy a low profile tool box, cut the bottom off. make my own tank, stuff inside and weld up the bottom. then use a solenoid, switch, and needle valve to transfer myself.

oh, well if someone else is paying, great. how about a replacement tank. they make like 50 something gallons tanks for the factory location and are cheaper.

I think Transfer Flow Tanks are redicuously over priced. I checked out Northern Tool and they have them for around 600 bucks, and they are DOT approved. The one I looked at had a fuel tank and tool box combo.

I have a RDS Aux tank/Tool box combo... It works great! It is 60 gallon setup and they are available from Northern Tool for about $400 or so... You can get the wiring harness that allows you to see the tank level on your factory gauge and have it either select teh tank to pull from or have it transfer to the factory tank.
I have mine setup to gravity feed to the factory tank and it works flawlessly! I look seeing the gauge on full for 900 miles! And it gave me a 1200-1500 mile range between fillups so you can really shop the prices!

I have their 60+ toolbox combo and love it. I have it set up for gravity feed and have had no issues so far. It should provide plenty of clearance for your 5er, I plan to tow one with this truck and I see no issues

Well...... I was going to post an attachment (picture of my tank) but now I see that I can't. Is this normal or am I just in trouble?? Not that it's a problem cause I'm always in trouble, it's just nice to know up front

it doesnt look like you are in trouble. the green box says you are a good person. in case you havent been told. go to member photos, my gallery, in right hand corner, upload photos. follow the screen, browse to find the location of the pics on your computer and hit upload. it takes the moderators alittle while depending on their workload to approve the pic. a picture would be great though.

Actually there are 4 types from transfer flow (probably more):

1) Mid ship replacement

2) In Bed

3) Tool Box tanks

4) Refueling tanks

bob, their installation kit for diesels say that it automatically controls the level in your stock tank preventing overfills, how does it do this with your kit?
that is a good price for a nice tank. what kind of range are you getting with 86 gallons on board. I get about 13-14mpg towing our trailer. get about 400 miles to a tank. should be good for 1000 with that much fuel.
