To trade or not to Trade
Ok, I got the truck. Everything seems fine, but I do have one issue that I am going to take it to the dealer next Wednesday to have everything looked over. At 65 to 70 mph there is a very distinct vibration which smooths out after 70. The truck has all new ujoints, and tires seem to be fine. Anything I can check on my own between now and next Wednesday? Also when in gear, and I left of the gas I can hear a slight whine/drivetrain noise. Could the vibration be caused because of the aftermarket exhaust. It has about a 20 in muffler on it, but no cat.
Good luck getting rid of the vibration. I asume it has a 2peice drive shaft. Most people have to go to an aftermarket 1 peice shaft. I havent gone there yet but I am wanting to. I just cant bring myself to spend the $700 to get rid of a vibration. I have had my 06 for a little over 5 years and its always done it. Some day I will break down and get one. I am holding out for now thoug cause I wana convert it to a 6 speed so I will do it then.
Yeah I'd do what alboy said. Take it to a good driveline shop and have them balance the driveshaft. If they changed the ujoints then they were trying to address this already.
I probably would have skipped the warranty and just ha the truck checked out first.
Good luck on the truck. Pretty low miles. I'd hang onto it and only use it when I need it. That is what I've done with my truck.

Goes into the dealer Wednesday to get this issue looked at. I looked over everything today all the u-joints look good all are brand new except the ones on the front shaft, and non have any play in them. I checked the transfer case fluid, and that was nasty brown so I changed that out with some good stuff. If the dealer cannot get this vibration fixed I will find a driveline shop to get both driveshafts balanced. Other then this one issue I love the truck!
Oh, and the 18 mpg in the wither is nice bonus to.

Looks like next week before the drive shop can balance the driveshaft. I have to go on a 300 mile round trip this weekend, do you think it is ok to drive with this thing vibrating like that. I could just drive 62 mph on the interstate because it does not vibrate at that speed. I might just **** off a lot of people.
Drive shaft is getting balanced today. On a side note I put on 300 miles this last weekend driving 60 mph, and got 19.5 hand calculated the overhead said 21. Pretty good for winter blend fuel in an Iowa winter. I just hope this drive shaft balance fixes the vibration issues over 65 mph.
So did that fix the isue? Where aboughts in iowa ya at? I am in the NW corner but grew up around the Forest City area. All my family lives in th Hampton area. Where is th driveline shop you went to?
Yes, that fixed the vibration $200 later. I live in the Grinnell area. I had some more bad news though my cp3 has a slight leak, and the warranty company won't cover it. They came out and looked at the truck, and they are going to cancel my warranty because the cat has been removed. What a joke, that is how I bought the truck the previous owner put an aftermarket exhaust on it. I will get about $1,800 back on the warranty. By the way the warranty was through a company called Guardian NEVER GET A WARRANTY with this company. Now I am fighting with the dealer I bought the truck from Watters in Indianola Iowa to fix the pump because they sold it to me that way and sold me this POS warranty. I know it is common for the CP3 to leak when cold, so I am not to concerned. My previous 04 had two CP3 replaced because of this issue, and they all leaked in the winter.
