towing light problem

I have a problem with my left side trailer turn bake light. All other lights work fine on truck and trailer.Traced it down to the integrated power module aka fuse box. I dont have 500 $ to replace it. I have jumped the turn signal from the truck to the trailer loom but you cant jump the brake also. If i put a diode in either the turn or brake or turn signal wire would that work ? Any help would be appreciated
